Alvin stands center screen in Alvin Dress Up, arms out, waiting on a plain hoodie until you pick something from the row of clothes below. Choosing a cap first changes the whole feel of the character before you even reach the shoes.

The closet runs in rows along the bottom of the screen: hoodies and striped tees up top, jackets and vests below them, then sneakers, caps, and sunglasses filling out the last row. A jacket layers cleanly over a hoodie, and swapping the cap doesn't reset anything else you've already picked.

Unlike a lot of makeover-style dress up games built around a human face, this one keeps the character's cartoon proportions the whole time, so oversized sneakers or a tiny backpack read as part of the joke instead of a mistake. Once you've settled on an outfit, the game locks it in as a finished look you can look back over before starting again.

Pairing a striped tee with a plain jacket instead of two bold patterns keeps the character readable, since busy combinations blur together on a small screen. Sunglasses with a backwards cap gives Alvin a distinct silhouette without adding extra pieces. The scroll arrow beside the shoe row is small and easy to skip past, so both pages of sneakers are worth checking before deciding.
