Halloween Crash

Black lace, ripped hems and buckled boots set the tone before you pick anything. Capes, witch hats, torn skirts and striped tights layer over each other, so a costume can be built up instead of picked whole.

Makeup has its own tab: pale base, dark lips, fake blood, scars, contact lenses in colors no eye actually is.

Tone does the work in this Halloween dress up game. Sweet pastels look wrong against everything else on the rack, and a costume only lands once it commits to being a little unsettling. Hair color helps more than you'd think, since a black bob and long silver waves pull the same outfit in different directions.
