Princess Soft Grunge Looks

A princess figure stands bare on a plain backdrop, dressed in nothing but a slip, when the first rack open is hair: loose waves, a messy bun, or two space buns with flyaways. Princess Soft Grunge Looks starts there because the hairstyle sets the mood before a single piece of clothing goes on, soft and romantic or rough and undone.

Categories line up along one side: hair, makeup, tops, bottoms, outerwear, and accessories. Tops range from a corset bodice to a ripped band tee, bottoms swing from a tulle skirt to distressed black jeans, and outerwear covers everything from a cropped denim jacket to a studded leather biker. Chokers, fishnet gloves and a tiara share the same accessory tray, so a soft piece and a harder piece can sit side by side.

The pull here is the clash built into the theme itself: a princess dress up game that hands over a tiara in one slot and safety-pin earrings in another, daring the two to work on one figure. A finished look locks into a still image once every slot is filled, ready to compare against a different combination.

Pair one soft piece with one rough piece instead of leaning all the way into either direction, a tulle skirt reads better next to a leather jacket than next to a tutu top. Match metal tones across the jewelry tray, silver studs with a silver tiara, so the accessories don't fight each other. Try the messy bun before the loose waves, since it holds the grunge half of the look without losing the princess half.
