Dressing Up: The Girl

Nothing about the opening screen explains what to click first, just a girl in a plain outfit standing next to a row of tabs. Picking a hairstyle early changes the shape of her head enough that every top or dress chosen afterward reads differently against it, which is usually the fastest way into Dressing Up: The Girl.

The tabs break down into hair, tops, bottoms or dresses, shoes and small extras. Hairstyles range from a blunt bob to a long braid, tops and bottoms can be mixed separately or swapped for a single dress piece, and extras like a pair of hoop earrings or a canvas tote sit in their own strip so they layer on top of whatever outfit is already built.

This dress up game keeps its categories broad instead of themed, so the same girl can end up in a school outfit, a beach look or something dressier depending purely on what gets clicked, with no background or scene tied to any one combination. A round ends when the outfit feels finished, at which point the look just sits there for you to look over or change again.

Working top to bottom, from hairstyle down to shoes, keeps colors from clashing across pieces that are not both visible in the small preview thumbnails at the same time. Choosing a dress instead of a separate top and bottom removes one seam where colors can fight each other. Circling back to the extras tab after the outfit is done catches accessories that got skipped on the first pass through the tabs.
