Gamer Girl Julie

Julie is slumped at her desk with dark circles and a headset still on when the game opens, and the first tool on screen is usually a cotton pad, not a lipstick. Gamer Girl Julie treats the tired face as a problem to fix before any makeover step, so the early taps clean up her skin before color gets added.

The care tools come first, cucumber slices or a gel mask for the eye bags, a cotton pad for cleanup, and a moisturizer to smooth out the skin before makeup starts. From there it moves into a lighter makeup set, a tinted BB cream instead of full foundation, a soft blush, mascara, and a few lip gloss shades instead of heavy lipstick. The closet keeps to a gamer look, graphic hoodies, ripped jeans, sneakers, and a headset that can sit up on the hair or down around the neck.

Most makeover games start at the face chart, but this one treats the under-eye circles as the actual starting point, so half the round goes to undoing the damage of a long gaming session before the makeup even begins. It ends with Julie back at her setup, headset on and outfit chosen, looking ready to go live instead of posing on a runway.

Clearing the dark circles all the way before opening the makeup tab keeps the BB cream from settling into patches. A hoodie in a color that matches the blush shade ties the whole outfit together better than picking clothes and makeup separately. The headset has a worn-down position that's easy to miss under the hair menu, and it changes the whole silhouette of the finished look.
