Magic Fairy Tale Princess

You start on a scene with a princess at the center, framed by soft castle colors and floating sparkles. The first decision is usually her dress, because the closet opens straight to the gown category. Tap or click a dress and it appears on her within a second, so comparing two gowns takes almost no effort. There is no tutorial and no pop-up; the whole screen is just her and the wardrobe.

Inside the closet, items sit in labeled rows: gowns, hairstyles, headpieces, jewelry, shoes, and a magic row holding wands, glowing orbs, wings and a mermaid tail. The gowns run from pale pastels to deep jewel tones, some with lace overlays and some with star-printed skirts. Hair options include a crown braid, loose curls and a sleek ponytail, and the headpieces sit on top without knocking the hair off. Because the tail replaces the skirt rather than the whole outfit, jewelry and hair stay in place when you switch to a mermaid look.

The one thing this princess dress up game does differently is let you build the scene along with the girl. Backgrounds shift from an underwater grotto to a moonlit tower, and the lighting on her gown changes with the scene, so the same dress looks two different ways. Unlike a basic character creator that stops at the outfit, a round here finishes with a saved portrait of princess and scene together.

Start with the background, not the dress, since the lighting will tell you which colors will pop. Pair the crown braid with the pointed tiara rather than the wide circlet; the silhouette reads better. And try the star-print skirt under the grotto lighting once, because it picks up a shimmer the daylight scene hides.
