Sky Fairy Dressup

The screen opens on Sky Fairy Dressup with a fairy floating against pastel clouds, wings already attached but everything else blank, and the first pick is almost always the wing color, since it sits behind everything else and sets the whole palette.

Wings come in several shapes, a rounded butterfly pair, a longer dragonfly pair, each recolorable on its own, separate from the dress underneath. Dresses lean flowing, a tiered chiffon skirt or a fitted bodice with a sheer overlay, and each layers under a cape or a sash without hiding the wings behind it. Hair pulls toward loose waves and floral crowns, and hand-held items, a star-tipped wand, a small lantern, sit in their own slot so picking one does not use up a hand better spent on a prop.

This fairy dress up game changes the sky itself, sunset, starlit night, daytime clouds, as one of the choices, which does more to shift the mood of the finished character than most single clothing pieces manage alone. The round closes on a full character shot, wings spread against whatever sky was picked, standing in for a finished portrait instead of feeding a points total.

Fix the wing color early, since it anchors the palette for everything picked afterward. Let the dress and wings sit in complementary tones instead of an identical shade, since two identical colors flatten the character instead of layering it. Save the sky for last, because a pale dress can vanish against a bright daytime backdrop and needs a darker sky to stay visible.
