The castle building comes after, once she looks the part. It splits your attention between two fun jobs right away: the girl and what she will build.

The wardrobe leans warm-weather. Expect sundresses, swimsuit tops with wrap skirts, sun hats, sandals, and light shawls for when the breeze picks up. Hair runs from loose waves to a high ponytail, with braids and flowers as add-ons. Jewelry is simple: seashell necklaces, pearl earrings, thin bracelets. Categories sit in a row of tabs along the bottom of the panel, and pieces layer the way you would hope, so a shawl sits over a sundress and a hat rests on top of any hairstyle without erasing it.

The twist is that half the game is construction. Most titles in this category stop at the outfit, but here your look gets finished on the sand, because the dress up and building halves feed each other. You drag castle molds onto the sand, stack towers, add flags, shells, and little bridges, then step back to see your princess posed beside the finished castle for a final screen you can save as a picture.

Work from the feet up: sandals first, then the dress, then hair, since tall hairstyles can clash with wide-brimmed hats and you will want to know early.
