TikTok Dance treats getting dressed as the warm-up act before the actual clip.

The wardrobe leans toward outfits built for movement: crop tops, biker shorts, high-waisted jeans and sneakers or platform shoes, with an open jacket that can layer over any top. Hair options include a high ponytail, space buns or loose waves, and makeup adds glitter eyeshadow, a glossy lip and blush arranged in a small palette. Hoop earrings and a couple of layered necklaces sit in the accessory tab for a last pass before recording.

The camera framing is the piece a typical makeover game skips: the finished look gets tested through a phone screen with a feed-style overlay, likes and comments included, instead of a plain portrait. A round wraps up with the recorded clip sitting in that feed, outfit, hair and makeup all captured mid-dance instead of posed still.

Syncing an outfit color to the background lighting, a bright top against a dark room for instance, reads better once the clip plays back. Glitter eyeshadow shows up more clearly on camera than a matte shade, so it tends to be the makeup pick worth reaching for first. The record button sometimes sits tucked in a corner of the phone frame, easy to miss next to the bigger wardrobe icons.
