What is Venice Carnival Party?
You land on a model posed against a canal-and-gondola backdrop, with the makeover menu split into stages along the edge of the screen. Your first job is the face: skin tone, then eye shape and color. Each pick applies instantly, and the model blinks and shifts her gaze so you can judge the makeup from more than one angle. The carnival setting is already visible behind her, which nudges you toward rich, dramatic choices early.
The toolkit runs through makeup first, with eyeshadow palettes, eyeliner styles, blush, and lipsticks in both matte and glossy finishes. Then comes the masquerade section, and this is the heart of the wardrobe: ornate eye masks in filigree, feathered half-masks, and jeweled domino masks, each recolorable. Hair, gowns, capes, and jewelry follow, with earrings, necklaces, and fans as finishing touches. Pieces layer sensibly, so a mask sits over eye makeup without erasing it and a cape drapes over the gown shoulders.
The twist is that the mask is treated as the centerpiece rather than an accessory. The game lets you build the makeup to coordinate with the mask you choose, so eye shadow and liner are picked to frame the mask's cutouts instead of fighting them. A round ends with a portrait shot of the finished model at the carnival, which you can save or redo from the top.
Choose the mask before the makeup, then pull one shadow color straight from the mask into your eyeshadow so they read as one design. Jewel tones like deep purple and gold hold up better under feathered masks than pale pastels. Check the hair against the mask ties; a high bun or updo keeps the mask edges visible.
