How To Make A Fashion Doll Cake

The cake stands bare on a rotating stand when How To Make A Fashion Doll Cake opens, waiting under a doll-shaped mold that still needs its dress. Your first job is picking a base coat of frosting, and that early color choice carries through every tier you build on top of it.

The toolkit spreads out like a real baking station: piping bags in different tip shapes, tubs of tinted frosting, fondant sheets for ruffled skirts, sugar pearls, and edible glitter for a bodice that catches the light. Ribbon trim and sugar flowers sit in their own row, ready to wrap around a waistline or cinch a tier once the frosting has set.

Most decorating games stop at sprinkles and icing swirls, but this one asks you to shape an entire figure out of cake, so the fondant has to read as fabric, not just frosting. A round in this cake decorating game ends with the finished doll cake photographed on its stand, ruffles and all, ready to compare against your last attempt.

Working from the bottom tier up keeps the ruffles from smudging as you add each layer. Matching the piped lace trim to the ribbon color pulls the whole cake together instead of leaving the tiers looking mismatched. Adding the sugar pearls last, after the fondant has had a moment to set, stops them from sinking into soft frosting.
